Jimmy Carmichael, Vocals, Keyboard, Saxophone

Jimmy Carmichael, Vocals, Saxophone, Keyboards

Jimmy sez’: It’s hailing from Fairfield, Alabama in the Heart of Dixie and growing up in the unique cultural/musical mélange that was the South in the 1950’s-60’s that gave him a superb slice of diverse musical influences and a solid chunk of love for music.  He picked up his first saxophone in 1962, soon began adding his singing talents and in the ensuing years has been able to share that love of music with listeners, and fellow players in countless venues. Among these notably; he played throughout Alabama with The Kombination (’64-’69) doing soul, motown & rock.  After moving to the SF Bay Area, with Escapade/Swing Fever he played northern California doing country, bluegrass, swing & original tunes (’75-’79), and with The Bat Boy’s in the ’80’s and playing bass for Jazzed int ’05/’06. Jim is now a safety & health professional after years in the printing trade and life is graced by his wife Susie and his friends & family.  With High MIleage, Jimmy rejoins his longtime bassist & friend Dan Swetlik and new talented bandmates. Its a nice mix of players, styles and tunes that is still developing, “We hope that folks will enjoy!”

Joey Perrera, Guitar and Vocals

Joey Pereira, Guitar, Vocals

Joey got his first guitar at 15. Coming from a family of musicians where his father and three brothers played; guitar, piano and drums, he was able to form a band. They played at local dances. Even had the opportunity to play at the Sacramento Convention Center and the San Francisco Opera house. Over the years Joey and the brothers have written many songs. CDs were given only to family members.. Today, playing with High Mileage has been nothing but fun.  Joey Pereira, Guitar”

Barry Shaver, Lead Guitar

Barry Shaver, Guitar, Vocals

Barry got his first guitar at the age of 10, a Sears Silvertone with a small amplifier. It was the start of a love /hate relationship. He “loved” to play, but his parents “hated” it loud. By high school and the “Summer of Love,” Barry joined the band at school and started playing trombone, through a generous donation by his Grandfather, a jazz player from the old days. Three years of orchestral, jazz and improvisational playing, led him back to his first love, the guitar, where he took up residence and still resides today. Barry toured with the soul band, “Pacific Spirit” for years and resides in California today, playing with numerous artists from the Bay Area– “The Blue Riders” and “Bud Ugley and the Cheeks,” to name a few. His style grew out of the love for the music he grew up with and plays today.
